Before we made Barons of the Galaxy we had a site called Clanwars.com which allowed players to setup battles over a galactic map that were resolved by playing games of StarCraft. Then I also made a Neverwinter Nights persistent world called World of Torr. I emailed all the registrants from these website and invited them here. Perhaps you found us wandering the internet. I've also posted this game in some Sci Fi community forums. We would love to know where you found us as well as what interests you about this game!

Was googling something like ogame or galactica - without their disgusting pay-to-win option - and found this
Looks very promising. Can't wait for more...

Awesome, I guess Google is working correctly. It's pretty hard to get anywhere near the first few pages of Google with keywords like SciFi MMO. What kind of games have you already played besides Ogame and Galactica? And doesn't OGame have a pay to win option with the dark crystals? That wasn't always there was it?

Was looking for a new game, found Astro Empires, and naturally I ended up looking at unofficial subreddit while I was waiting for things to build. Saw your post decided to sign up and check it out. I've also been looking to get into a new game as it builds a community so this seems like a perfect fit!

Glad you like it so far. I'm curious if you've played other games like this? Like Astro Empires or OGame?

I found this through a post on the almost-dead Astro Empires subreddit.

You have not got your game in the kickstarter section of spacesimcentral as other games do.

I have a development thread on SpaceSimCentral and SpaceSector.com
I recently contacted them both and asked. We'll see what happens

I was looking for an alternative to ogame and found this awesome project! I learned it thanks to a subreddit, and registered instantly. Looks way more deep than ogame

Thanks! I never liked OGame or Astro Empires is why I'm making this game.

Was searching for an alternate to Ogame when I stumbled onto a random forum where somebody else was asking for Alts to Ogame. Luckily enough, at the bottom of the thread there was a message from Dr.Dread mentioning Barons. Jumped over here instantly and began reading.
For quite some time, years even, I was hooked on Ogame. Starting out in an existing galaxy made the whole process an uphill battle, but it was a lot of fun. The galaxy I was in slowed to a halt, and a merger took place. The merged galaxy wasn't very active either, and I slowly lost interest. To be honest, I'm not even sure if my account is still in Vmode or long deleted. I'm looking forward to trying Barons, it looks like it'll have the depth that I'm looking for in a persistent game.

I hear that a lot from OGame and Astro Empires, even EVE online. The games kind of grind to a halt and nothing much happens. I'm trying to make this game a little more "MMO Centric" as in half the game is dealing with the other players politically. Wether that's against them or cooperatively.

I found it at newrpg.com and it does not seem to be similar to ogame. It looks like a rather economic game. Anyway I am interested in trying it out.

Heard of it from a friend, who in turn heard of it from the old Astro Empires, which we both used to play years ago, apparently he still hangs around the forums.
