Elections - not participating

There seems to be a small bug which might just be me but...
In the current cycle of elections I'm not participating in any way - i.e. there are elections going in my city (like in all cities) but I am not eligible to vote or be voted for.
Not sure why though.

My guess is that they started the event chain before we started. We should be able to participate during the next voting round.

Being a FREE player, Can we see who won the election? No need to have emails sent to ask us to vote 
(You cannot submit a vote for this event (Free Account))

Nah I'm not a free player and I was around long before the election chain began. It's bizarre but I'm sure it will be fine by the time the next elections roll by.

The election events show up 100 turns before the actual election as a warning. The elections will trigger on turn 200 and you will get notified.and everyone who is paid will be able to vote.
