Also Bay 12, albeit indirectly through one of our Lands of Lords Discord channels rather than the b12 forums proper.

I found it be searching games similar to O-game. This seems to be superior is almost every aspect.
I'm a daft hand at photoshop, and i can program pretty decently. Happy to contribute any help that may be needed, although Uni has me pretty flat out.
Either way, looking forward to seeing how this game plays out

Hi, I've read about Barons in the Bay12 forums. I'm not a forumite but I lurk it from time to time because those guys really know about games (also because I play Dwarf Fortress). BTW, congrats Dr. Dread for this awesome game!!

Thank You for this great game, I've get here from OGame (like some of others) that in comparison is really poor. Keep up good work!

Lux Unknown started a chain reaction of multiple people joining Barons Of The Galaxy. That's what brought me here.

Trade Wars from back in the day? Used to play that on Bulletin Board Systems before the internet. Do you know I owned "tradewarsonline.com" for the longest time? =)

I have been waiting for a game called "age of ascent". It was and still is taking them FOREVER to put the game out. So, I started googling browser mmo games that work on mobile. I found this game and I think it might just be better than "Age of Ascent". It looks like the game will have all the bells and whistles, but the core of this game is so good. The politics, the community, the overall set-up. You cannot replace stuff like that.

Found it while looking around for a game similar to AE. So far finding this game quite good. Lots to explore. Also, I like, or at least I hope I WILL like the fact that the developer is willing to implement improvements to the game based on player feedback.

I am an ad2460 player and was looking for a game to complement it time wise. Searched in mmorpg and found this game as a fairly recent one, though i'd give it a go. So far, I like it and the slow pace works for me right now your game has a lot of potential it seems and I am looking forward to seeing where I go in it.

I came across it on Reddit while looking for an alternative to OGame (Seriously, I was getting sick and tired of having to set 3am alarms to catch all these night raids) I believe the Reddit post was by Dread, and he made the game, this game, for the same reasons I wanted to quit OGame.
Actually, for a while, I was tossing around the idea of making my own browser based game like this, but I just don't have the free time to want to deal with that much work.

I played Astro Empires for a week, and googling for more games like it. A fourth or fifth link I opened lead me to civfanatics forum and DrDread74 (BotG creator) were promoting BotG. And here I am now. Interesting game so far, can't wait til I produce my first End Product.

Was looking for something like OGame - but with a little more build and trade - instead of OGame where if you miss something you are blown back to oblivion. I wanted something I could leave open in a browser and have a low demand on my time while I work. I found it here: https://forums.mmorpg.com/discussion/351230/any-browser-games-like-ogame-but-better

Heard of it from a friend, who in turn heard of it from the old Astro Empires, which we both used to play years ago, apparently he still hangs around the forums.
AE is more of a pay2win game, you will see that the players who didnt pay for subscription arent allowed to build up to more than lvl5 economic centers. This is a great inequality.
And to be on topic, it just happened to find this game. Which I see it's very convoluted.
One question, does this server really hold like 244.140.624 records (244 mil) for the map table in SQL? On AE they had like 10k records for each div I think for every galaxy. They have a similar map to this one used here.. 244 mil records in the database seem much to me.
