Corporation Highlight: Megacoso Corp

One of the older corporations in the galaxy, Megacoso was incorporated just after turn 6000, and is nearing its 25,000th turn of existence. The company has attained a net worth of 31.5 billion, and is ranked #8 in the Terran Federation Net Worth Leaderboard.

Megacoso is a principle member in the Mars colonization project, which has seen great success. Megacoso holds significant assets on Mars, also throughout the Sol system; this investment in physical assets is a primary contributor to their work in building the second most populated planet in Sol and third overall in the galaxy.

The city of Erben, the largest on Mars and 4th most populated in the galaxy, is ruled by Megacoso. The corporation also maintains the warp gate over Mars, which is a crucial part to its growth as a major planet on the galactic stage. Megacoso has provided leadership and stability that has helped build a key part of the Sol market.

The economic impact of this corporation is not their only contribution however. The corporation boasts the 8th largest military in the galaxy, and has played part in significant defensive operations throughout the Sol system.

Corporations such as Megacoso have been key to the strengthening and continued development of the galaxy. Other business would do well to learn from and follow their example.

GNN: Top 10 Vacation Destinations for the Holidays

The turn 32k holiday season is rapidly approaching. From the charms of pristine landscapes in Yrsa, to the exotic oceans of Sirius IV, our experts bring you their top 10 travel destinations this holiday season.

Vallejo, Luyten
This incredibly wealthy city is a must-travel destination. Located on Luyten VI, the city boasts the greatest concentration of fine arts, high-end accommodations, and luxurious living in the galaxy. Don’t let the city be your only draw though, as guided tours of the planets toxic landscape can literally take your breath away. Puns aside, seeing the landscape and atmosphere of this planet is an experience all in its own.

Gresham, Centauri
There are reasons why certain locations continually are listed among the top travel locations in the world. Centauri VI boasts the most fantastic atmosphere anywhere in the known galaxy, and is like an artist’s painting across the entire planets’ surface. The light from the Centauri type I star creates spectacles across the sky that are impossible to believe if you are not seeing it with your own eyes. The orbital cities provide their own experience, featuring a blending of cultures that brings an incredible amount of experiences altogether in unique and fantastic ways.

Rigil I
This location features a variety of incredible experiences for those who like to keep their comforts close at hand. This planet features beautiful terrain features not found on earth that can offer seclusion, relaxation, and adventure. After a day of exploring the natural sites, travelers can retire to the modern and high class city of Yucca, which features one of the most modern and high-tech urban environments in the world. Those who have interest in history can also visit the ancient city sites from previous human settlements on the planet.

Alger, Gulyaev
Prepare to be filled with dreadful wonder upon visiting Alger, the location of the Star Lord JBD’s imperial compound. Descriptions cannot belay the size and complexity of this grand palace. Located in the open deserts of the planet, the Grand Citadel of the compound soars like a mountain out of the otherwise sparse and empty horizon; this citadel is visible up to 50 miles away on the ground. The compound also features massive shipyards and military installations. This is a vacation destination that no traveler will regret visiting.

Acadiau, Gulyaev
The outdoor enthusiast and climbing experts will relish the chance to visit Acadiau. The city is touted across the galaxy as the highest quality rock climbing and spelunking experiences anywhere. The vast mountains and rocky terrain creates an ideal environment for those who enjoy the thrills of conquering the toughest challenges nature has to offer. Do not be deceived however; this environment is tricky and dangerous, and those who are looking to explore the planet need to take serious precautions to protect themselves from harm and natural predators.

Ilias, Gulyaev
This location is deep with history, providing ample opportunity to visit countless historic locations. The list of sites is too numerous to count, from the historic governmental palace to awe-inspiring temples and monuments. Of course, no visit to Ilias is complete without attending the infamous Blood Bowl, which is hosted in the Grand Arena every holiday season. Those who like to explore can also visit Questa or some of the smaller cities nearby, each that offers its own unique experiences and cultures.

Sirius IV
The entire aquatic environment provides a unique home for teeming oceans of tropical aquatic wildlife. The heat from the nearby type 4 star creates higher than average ocean temperatures, allowing for types of aquatic life to thrive that cannot be found anywhere else in the galaxy. Submarine excursions and diving expeditions allow travelers to experience the most unique sea environment anywhere. Resorts on some of the few islands provide an excellent home base to return to and relax after experience all this planet has to offer.

Huertas, Panther
The volcanic landscape of Panther provides some of the most unique and profound experiences available. The natural hot baths are a season-round attraction for millions of travelers, and lava-surfing is among the most thrilling extreme-sport experiences available. In addition, the deep blue lighting from the system’s star combined with the orange and reds of the planet creates a visual experience unlike any other. Visitors should also check out the artifact facilities and museum, which displays some extremely unique alien artifacts that have been discovered on the planet.

Burkam III
Any travelers who appreciate wildlife should look no further than Burkam III which is home to over 11 million unique documented species of animals and birds. The creatures located here are both unique and fascinating, and the environment is completely untouched by humans, save for a few small resorts established for tourism. Those seeking solitude and immersion in nature should not pass up this opportunity. No permanent settlements exist on the planet, so any visits must be coordinated through one of the established travel agencies.

Yrsa I
Those wishing to experience what earth was like before the war should take a visit to Yrsa I. The planet features near-identical landscapes that could have been found on earth, including rainforests, mountains, beaches, and grasslands. Yrsa I remains one of the least spoiled of all terran planets, and provides an opportunity to view what our great ancestors had experienced on the home planet. Yrsa contains a complete range of experiences to satisfy all outdoor adventurers.

GNN: Echos Echo Resigns as EDF Leader

Echos Echo made his resignation speech from the Imperial Palace in Paris following his disagreements with AristocraTech.

PARIS: Echos Echo has resigned as leader of the EDF following his proclamation that Thrawn Industries is exiled from Earth.

The former EDF chief stepped down after disagreement with Emperor AristocraTech concerning the exile of Thrawn from Earth. AristocraTech, during a public statement, said “Thrawns actions in this case were not against Earth therefore he is not exiled from Earth for them. In previous cases where corporations have been exiled for actions outside Earth, they accepted exile rather than the alternative.”

Echos Echo criticized the Emperor for lack of action and being unable to adequately protect the people of Earth, and offered his resignation shortly after. Ironically, the EDF force was previously under the leadership of Thrawn Industries prior to Echos Echo’s time in command. EDF responsibilities have now fallen to the emperor until a new appointment has been made.

The incident came after Thrawn Industries had launched a string of attacks against Epoch members, destroying research facilities and damaging numerous other assets. Some corporations have gone so far as to call these terrorist attacks, although others have labeled these actions as both piracy and war. Thrawn responded to the label by saying “if I am a terrorist, then so is Nynoxaff for attacking Earths Emperor. So would be Echo, for attacking AIX in the last battle because he didn’t plan properly.”

Though the full motivations for the attacks are not completely known, all indications point to retaliation for the strike that was made against the Starport over Earth by Nynoxaff. Thrawn appears to have had a private conversation with Nynoxaff about the reasoning behind the attacks.

It appears Thrawn had other motivations in the attacks as well, including his belief that large corporations should not be overcrowding Artifact locations. It must be noted that the corporations owning a large amount of research locations belong to The Ark Group, of which Thrawn was a former member.

Most Influential Corporation:

1. AristocraTech, Emperor of Earth
This corporation has held itself as the most influential corporation in the galaxy. As Emperor of Earth, AristocraTech holds control of the largest population base in the galaxy. The company is among the oldest in existence, and holds an immense amount of power concerning political issues in the galaxy. The long-standing corporation also boasts a strong military and is ranked #4 in greatest net worth.

Not all is perfect at the top, however, as AristocraTech has often received criticism concerning it’s handling of affairs on the planet earth, and has sometimes been slow in responding to crises that effect the populations on earth. Even in spite of this, it is clear that this corporation is a major influential voice in the galaxy.

Ranks 2 Through 5:

2. Sore Cogs Galactical, Ruler of Acadiau
The greatest industrial and military power in the galaxy stands as the second most influential corporation. As ruler of a very small population on Gulyaev XI, Sore Cogs is the only corporation in the top 5 that is not an Emperor or Star Lord. Yet in spite of this, the long-standing corporation boasts a political strength that cannot be ignored.

3. Megacoso Corp, Emperor of Mars
Though modest in the military, industrial, and net worth rankings, Megacoso Corp holds a strong position as Emperor of Mars, the second most populated planet in the galaxy. Ranked 10th in net worth, this corporation has been instrumental in the development of Mars and the strengthening of the Sol system.

4. JBD, Star Lord of Gulyaev
The only Star Lord in the galaxy, JBD is an extremely important corporation concerning political matters. Standing at 12th in net worth, the only thing this corporation is missing is a strong industrial output. Their military is not to be laughed at however, and JBD remains among the oldest corporations in the galaxy.

5. Safehold Corp, Emperor of Gulyaev II
Another long-standing corporation, Safehold Corp rules over Gulyaev II. This corporation has been a strong contributor to the safety and well-being of the most populated planet in the Gulyaev system. Ranked 13th in net worth, Safehold also boasts strong numbers in military and industrial capacity.

System Analysis

Sol
Sol has grown in market strength due to the emerging prominence of the Mercury settlement as well as strong growth on Mars and a stable market on Earth. The home planet features decent prices on nearly all products, with the exception of Civilian Services, which is lower than can be found elsewhere in the galaxy. All other products are required in large quantities and offer fair selling prices.

With 3 planets in the top 5 most populated, Sol offers a huge range of selling opportunities. Corporations who specialize in end products should consider selling on Mars and Mercury, which both feature high prices and large volumes for certain product categories. As always, corporations should be aware of any rulership charters in the cities they are selling in, as buying and selling restrictions could range quite dramatically across the Sol system.

Gulyaev
Following a period of contraction, Gulyaev appears poised to move into a period of sustained growth, with population numbers increasing across the system. A few newer corporations have joined the ARK group, providing a boost to products being supplied to cities there. Opportunistic corporations will likely find some product categories that are undersupplied during this period of growth, allowing for opportunities to sell at large profits.

Gulyaev remains among the strongest overall selling environment outside of Sol. Corporations looking to sell or move industry to this system should first consult the System Charter and familiarize themselves with the laws and regulations there. Prospective sellers should also check charters for individual cities, as restrictions can vary from city to city.

Luyten
The second most populated system, Luyten, is also home to the second largest city in the galaxy. Approximately 70% of the system population resides in this great city, Vallejo. This city is price controlled and features a closed market, with unauthorized corporations only able to sell when products exceed certain demand levels. The city has even tighter restrictions in Civil Services and purchasing of goods.

Outside of Vallejo, no cities exist with a population in excess of 1 million. The Luyten system currently provides little opportunity for profit to outside corporations. If approval is obtained to sell in the city of Vallejo, it can be a profitable venture, but corporations who hold monopolies on products make it a difficult market to break into. Unauthorized corporations are advised to seek business elsewhere.

Rigil
Continuing its rise in prominence, Rigil is now the 4th most populated system in the galaxy. 3 different corporations have focused their entire industry towards the growth of Rigil, which appears poised to continue its growth trend well into the future. Any corporation seeking a new venture can will be able to find opportunity for long term profits and growth, which makes this system perhaps the best for any corporation seeking a new opportunity outside of Sol.

Corporations looking to serve this market will find certain end products in good demand, and opportunities to monopolize a certain sector of the market are a possibility, pending the approval of the members of the new democracy. Raw materials provide little opportunity for profit at the moment. Both cities feature restrictions on buying products as well as a closed monopoly on civilian services.

Centauri
Centauri has small settlements scattered across the system, but Centauri VI is the only planet with a significant population, in excess of 10 million. The planet features 4 cities, which provides a decent opportunity to sell products at a moderate volume. Outside of Centauri VI, few opportunities exist.

The system is more or less underpinned by a single corporation. This means there are perhaps the best selling market in the galaxy for certain components and civilian services on Centauri VI, as demand for certain products continue to rise without being supplied. Centauri holds great opportunity to sell certain products, and could perhaps even make a good place to settle for any corporation seeking to leave Sol.

Yrsa
Isolated in Sector 7, this system features 2 significant cities, each with a population of over 4 million. This environment provides unique opportunities and challenges that cannot be found in Sector 1. Corporations located here are committed and determined, but also open and welcoming to newcomers. This system provides opportunity for those who seek to leave Sol for whatever reason.

The resettlement of Sector 7 continues, and has appeared to gain momentum. The corporations here continue to grow in strength, and will soon be able to provide a strong market to sell in. Until then, corporations relocating to this system should contact local corporations to avoid an overcrowding of product supply. Corporations not relocating to Sector 7 should seek the more lucrative profits within Sector 1.

Sirius
One of the newly settled parts of the galaxy, Sirius is experience growth due to the relocation of the Liasion Federation to the system. This system appears poised to undergo continual growth into the foreseeable future, as the corporations there continue to invest in the growth of the system. Sirius is the strongest of the emerging markets in Sector 1, and will likely become a strong selling market in the future.

Corporation Highlight: Black Star Inc

A young and promising corporation, Black Star has continually risen among the most influential companies in the galaxy. Currently headquartered in Laurys on Mercury, Black Star is ranked #15 in net worth among corporations.

Though still growing both in industrial capacity and militarily, the corporation seems likely to continue strong growth and move into more and more galactic prominence. This company is a critical part of the growth and development of Mercury, currently the 5th most populated planet.

The planet of Mercury appears poised to reach a population of 20 million, and this would allow the opportunity for the first Star Lord in the Sol system. Black Star has been an integral part of this process. It is possible this corporation will be elected the first ever emperor of Mercury, adding to his already growing list of accolades.

The galaxy would benefit from more corporations such as Black Star, and many would be wise to follow their successful business patterns.

U.C.O.R. Announces First Ever Galactic Lottery

Following the incorporation of the United Corps of Rigil, also known as UCOR, the corporation group has announced the first ever galactic lottery to celebrate their new organization.

The lottery currently offers 50 tickets for sale, and are priced at 12.5 million each. Artifact prizes will be awarded sometime next week during a live drawing on the Discord communications channel.

UCOR, the host and sponsor of the event, was founded this previous week as a democratic group of corporations who focus on the growth and safety of the Rigil system. They hold strongly to equality among members and maintain a strong commitment to a democratic process. UCOR currently has no restrictions on guild affiliations, meaning any members who seek to join may retain their previous guild membership.

"Our goal is to create an environment that is both welcoming and safe for corporations to come and do business," stated Davix Aedard, CEO of StarCorp. "We have created a strong, sustainable market that now provides an incredible opportunity for more corporations to come establish themselves." StarCorp was the first corporation to resettle Rigil after having been nearly abandoned for a long period of time.

Rigil I appears ready to add a 4th city, which UCOR hopes will attract other corporations to the system. UCOR would provide new corporations with 2 different end product categories to specialize in, allowing them to sell their products in all 4 cities on the planet.

The lottery appears to be designed to publicize and draw attention to the creation of UCOR and the opportunities in the Rigil system. At this time only a limit number of tickets are available, and Hunter, the administrator of the lottery, has not said if more tickets will be coming available if all 50 are sold out.

GNN: Galactic Gore Games Begin

NAYORO, SIRIUS IV: The first ever Galactic Gore Games tournament began this week in the Sirius system. The games, which are being facilitated through the Ark Group, Epoch, and Liason Federation guilds, have been fraught with controversy from the outset.

The tournament features 4 corporations that face off on a single elimination format. These corporations are to field a size 50 force with no artifact units, with a damage threshold of 20%. Battle round one began at 38100 with battles to be completed by 38150.

Orion Industries and Infinity Inc. began the action on turn 38087, about 13 turns before the official start of the tournament. This small issue could have been overlooked; however Infinity appears to have inadvertently left the carrier to participate in the battle, rendering the result null. Cross Gen has rescheduled the match, and appears to have not received a response from Infinity. A lack of response before 38420 will see Orion Industries into the final, with an automatic forfeiture for Infinity Inc.

The second match was delayed due to a warp malfunction from StarCorp’s fleet. This left Nynoxaff’s Veritek force waiting until turn 38201 to finally begin the battle. The battle did see a good start with a fairly conservative effort from both sides, with Nynoxaff gaining a small advantage against the weaker Veritek force from StarCorp. StarCorp battlesuits responded with a massive volley in the second round, but they were unable to turn the advantage Nynoxaff had gained.

Unfortunately, the Nynoxaff Veriteks seemed unaware of the competition rules, and ruthlessly destroyed the entire StarCorp force, according to a spokesperson with CrossGen. It is unclear if Nynoxaff will face any penalties or repercussions for this breach of rules.

Should Nynoxaff be allowed to continue to the final, they will face Orion Industries to determine the champion. CrossGen anticipates the final to be scheduled before the weekend.

GSN: Nynoxaff Wins Gore Games Competition

Nynoxaff has won the first ever Galactic Gore Games with a strong victory over Orion Industries. The final began at 38498 and lasted 5 turns, with the Orion Industries side looking lackluster and lacking inspiration. Nynoxaff was able to destroy the opposing veritek force before concentrating on the vulnerable battlesuit forces from Orion.

The winning proceeds have been donated to help fund future Galactic Gore events. Talks are already underway on how to improve the game format and to increase participation among corporations. Speculation exists that a moon or planet would be dedicated for the games, with a permanent league being established on that planet.

Other rumors hint at changes to the battle format in general, by limiting the max level of units and changing the unit cap to be based on their upkeep cost instead of size. An interesting concept has appeared of a unit “draft” at the beginning of each season, to determine which units each corporation would be allowed to field. It appears all of these changes are theoretical, with the game founders still in discussion on how to proceed.

No confirmation has been made on a date or location for future games.

System Analysis

Sol
Sol continues to be the center of trade and commerce in the galaxy, featuring the 3 most populated planets in the galaxy. The continual growth of Mars and Mercury has provided some of the best high-volume selling opportunities since the great geo-booster crash of 15000. These environments provide a stable and strong market for all corporations, and especially those who are seeking their first opportunities away from earth.

Not all is good in the Sol system however, with Earth experiencing turbulent times following the planetary elections that saw AristocraTech replaced by Orion Industries. The planet has faced a slow decline in population, fueled by a few large corporations relocating their industries to other systems. Earth may soon be surpassed by Mars in population if the current trends continue. Earth currently has high demand in component product types, which can provide good selling opportunities for all corporations.

Sirius
The Sirius system has thrust itself into the spotlight as the second most populated system in the galaxy. The growth is due to the Liaison Federation relocating to the system. 4 planets exist with a population over 5 million, with the largest as home to over 25 million inhabitants. The system has yet to stabilize and is relatively young; this means the markets may be more volatile and could experience a crash should there be a change of plans or direction from the resident corporations.

The incredible growth means there are high demand products in large volumes as the markets continue to grow. All corporations should keep an interest in this sector and look for opportunities to make large profits. The Sirius system is a very promising location for corporations to resettle and do business. Those who seek to work in this system should contact the Liaison Federation representatives in the system prior to doing business or relocation industry here.

Gulyaev
Until recently, Gulyaev has been the “second system” outside of Sol, known for its stable government and strong selling environment. With the incredible economic growth across the galaxy, Gul has failed to keep pace, falling behind to the incredible growth in Sirius and Sol. Despite this, there are very good opportunities due to the commitment of the corporations located there. Gul is still considered the most stable system outside of Sol.

Luyten
The fourth most populated system, Luyten, is also home to the second largest city in the galaxy. Following a long period of market restrictions, CrossGen has opened the markets in Vallejo to allow free trade to flow into the city. This appears to be in response to some corporations leaving the city, and also to take advantage of the incredible market growth occurring in the galaxy.

Outside of Vallejo, no cities exist with a population in excess of 1 million. The opening of Vallejo brings Luyten into the spotlight, providing another high-volume market for corporations to sell in. Any prospective sellers should first check the charter, as certain products are still price-controlled and/or restricted.

Rigil
With the liquidation of Hunter from the game, Rigil has experienced a period of contraction. Echos Echo has moved to Rigil to bolster its growth, and the markets appear to have stabilized. The system remains a good place to do business, with 3 cities over 5 million. Expect to see Rigil show modest growth, which will reflect in increasing prices for certain categories as the corporations adjust to the growth.

Corporations looking to serve this market will find certain end products in very good demand, and opportunities to monopolize a certain sector of the market are a possibility, pending the approval of the members of the new democracy. Raw materials provide little opportunity for profit at the moment. Each city features restrictions on buying products as well as a closed monopoly on civilian services.

Yrsa
Isolated in Sector 7, the system has been settled by Federation Starfleet. The guild has imposed strong restrictions and penalties for any corporation looking to do business in this sector. The market is not technically closed, but the restrictions and laws make business in this sector difficult, unless the corporation joins as a guild member. Corporations are advised to avoid this system and pursue many of the great opportunities in Sector 1.

Galactic Council Convenes to Determine Rules of Engagement

MEXICO CITY: The greatest and most influential members of the galaxy have convened in an undisclosed location to hold a summit to establish the Galactic Rules of Engagement treaty. The summit, established and organized by Emperor Genecho of Rigil I, has been called to address the conflicting views on how military conflicts should be handled between corporations.

The discussions have become a focus of the leading members of the galaxy in response to the public declarations made by the Peoples Galaxy, a now-defunct terrorist group. The terrorist group claimed its action was based on the desire for a more aggressive gameplay – an aim that has often been hampered by a corporations’ ability to easily identify and destroy valuable assets of their opponents in response to any aggressive action made against them. This has often resulted in swift and powerful retaliations, or strong sanctions and penalties imposed on the aggressor.

When asked to comment on the state of the summit, Genecho appeared cautiously optimistic: “The talks are progressing slowly, as this is a very complicated matter to deal with, but despite the pace I feel things are moving in the right direction, but I do not see an end to talks for some time.”

The summit is working to establish a system where combat is allowed based on locations. The current draft appears to allow unrestricted combat in locations without a governing charter. Combat within chartered locations would fall under a set of limited combat rules. Earth and the moon are to be considered non-combat areas. Violating these rules would allow corporations to bring harsh retaliation and penalties upon the offending corp.

The specifics of the Rules of Engagement are still being discussed, and there does not appear to be consensus among all members on the current state of the rules. Orion the Hunter, CEO of Orion Industries, stated “the RoE is supposed to encourage more combat by taking away the fear of extreme reprisals. So far we have not met that goal in my opinion.” It appears Emperor Karmic Koala of Kosmere Unlimited shares similar concerns.

Emperor Cayleb Ahrmahk of Safehold Corp holds a more positive view of the impact of the summit. “The GROE will assist players in knowing what actions are sanctioned and what are prohibited. I have renewed hope in the establishment of new corporations throughout the galaxy as citizens realize their full potential and fill the many diverse needs of the galaxy.”

Other solutions to the issue exist as well, such as the system Sir J of Sore Cogs Galactical has suggested. Under his proposed system rulers would define and allocate various zones or systems each with its own style of play. In this system, those who prefer different styles of play can find the system or area that suites them, and play within that environment. It appears this proposal has not found the backing of the other members in the summit.
