If you are a ruler of some kind, City, Planet, You should now see a "Create Custom Event" link under your Events grid. From there you can make and launch your own voting event. The event doesnt actually DO anything, it is just a Poll essentially that uses the same mechanics as the normal voting events. It can be used y rules to make actual referendums (like Should Grandor be punished?)

You can make up your own Title and Description and add up to 10 Poll Choices. The Event will sends a Comms message to anyone with structure output in your rulership and their voting weight is their structure output. Just like normal events, only paid accounts can vote.

We might add more features to it such as voting by Output/Military/Single vote or make some that actually enforce laws. This is a good first step.

You can only have one active vote at a time and its set to 200 turns each. you can Save your vote and launch it later. I cannot test the feature on the live server without logging in as a ruler so please tell me if something goes wrong when you try it.

Also, we have cut the construction time of ships in half across the board. Ships take enormously long times to build compared to ground units (now). Since ground units can be built at higher level at higher level bases, you can make a dozen level 10 ground units in a day with a couple of bases. Shipyards also reduce time by up to half at level 10 but It still takes weeks instead of days to put the same kind of money onto the field.

The really good news though is now that this is in place, the next thing I'm working on is...MEGASTRUCTURES (omg the cheering!) first one will be Warp Gates

The custom voting system we implemented recently doesn't do anything except tally a vote or poll. It can be used by rulers as a tool to decide on actions to take. However we do want to expand it to make the event actual impose a law or punishment on a player if needed. For example, the War Reparations event can be turned into a punishment inflicted on another corp who the ruler ship feels is acting unjustly. Other examples can be game emforced trade restriction or even banishment from a city or planet, with the NPC Terran Feds enforcing it by attacking those corps in those areas Such edicts would only last a week or so and rulers can only issue a vote or edict like this to one corp every couple of days but it can be devastating.

This would give being ruler not just give you money but also now give you actual POWER in the game. A star Lord can literally boot a player out of the system or force him to pay reparations, hand over units or whatever else we can put in. We can also make these edicts require a majority vote but the ruler gets a big bonus to the vote.

In the end this kind of political power would be how any abuse by players can be enforced by the players themselves. We would only have to get involved as admins in situations of scorched earth abuse.

Their should be some checks and balances between the tiers of ruler. A Starlord shouldn't be able to override the dictates of an Emperor and an Emperor shouldn't override the dictates of a Mayor. By the way, I still think we should rename Emperors to Governors and call the system leader the Emperor.


Ruler of New York sounded a little sexier than Governor of New York.
If star systems have Emperors then what do we call Planet rulers? And you're now kicking out "Star Lord" as the coolest title name out there! ... Except for the ruler of the entire universe which would be called the "Galactus" probably =)

To the talk about what kind of powers rules would have. I would be uneasy about unit handovers and such also, I think the best you can get would be a War Reparations for 1% of their net worth (Terran Fed Controls the Currency) and if you did get some kind of banishment ruling, it wouldn't force salvage anything, it just means that not only will the Terran Fed NOT protect you on Earth anymore, The Terran fed might start attacking you on Earth for the week. Of course, Terran Fed only applies on Earth. Unless there is an edict of some sort that will spawn and send terran fed group to attack another corp.

You might be able to put down a "No Trade" or at least maybe a "No Sell" law against the corp for that City or planet, system. Which would prevent them from Selling anything there, they could still buy, and they can still sell to another corp. It wouldn't devastate your game so much as force you to sell outside the city or planet. A star Lord No Sell edict would be painful however. You could also make them pay a toll on selling instead.

You bring up a good point about hierarchy, a Ruler couldn't make edict against another ruler. Or perhaps a Emperor can edict a ruler on that planet, but the edict wouldn't apply to that rulers city (he rules there) and same thing if a star lord edict down on a planet lord or ruler, the law wouldn't apply in the area you control. That would make for some interesting politics. You can still edict another ruler but its not as effective because even if you give me a no Sell Edict I can still sell in my city if I rule there.

I will always start off with this statement about multi accounting:

I cannot effectively prevent multi accounting. Its a free game, you can make as many accounts as you like, I don' even require an email address anymore so there isn't even a hassle of making fake email accounts. Even if it was a pay to play game, for some people the extra money is nothing. I can find casual multi accouters by same IP and some other information but if you are a big power player, you will know how to hide your alts and the power players are the only real problem. No one cares if a level 2 corp is screwing around with 3 alts on a moon somewhere.

So, we can find ways to make multi accounting not viable, maybe no trading AT ALL between corps which will make it a huge hassle to dump one corps product and have the other "raid it" to move money between them but it will still happen.


If I cant stop it, I rather regulate the abuse of it. And while I can make judgement on any abuse, I really prefer the players make the call and dole out punishment as they see fit. I can make tools in the game that allow other players to literally ban other corps. We would have to be careful with something like that but if it on player majority across the System, it should be legitimate.

All the artifact bonuses are added together and applied to your base stat as one bonus. A +5 movement and a +25 Movement will be +30. A 50% and a +250% will be a +300% bonuses on base stat,. Then the level bonuses will multiply that new base stat number. The artifact bonuses stack on each other before being applied as one.

Well, that is a bug/typo. I would roll with what the description says in the event and not trust the Comms but I'm not sure. i'll look at it now

Scratch that, the event title is accurate the stage title for Libberal agenda accidentaly says conservative in the stage description. Both liberal and conservative agenda events are both saying "conservative" in the stage title if that makes more sense. ill correct it in a minute

"Conservative" was a Fake News Hoax perpetrated buy the Chinese Amirite? =)

There is a Guide on the main website. Other than that, the end of the tutorial lists several things you can try to get going. Generally speaking you make more product and sell it every where you can see a high price for it.. Many people look for low prices, buy it and then sell it to another city on the same planet and make a killing. They chase the events that swing the price of goods.

Under viewscreen, look at the entire planet of earth >> Go Demand tab >> and drill down to a category of products you're into or leave it at the top, >> On the top 10 grid in the lower left you can switch the drop down to "MAX Demand" And you can switch that between high and low. Look for a product with really low demand, sned a transport to buy it and then sell it to a city that has a high demand. Buying costs 2x the value so you would break even if you bought at a 100 and sold at 200. Often times an event slams products to 50 in one city and they are worth 300-400 somewhere else on the planet. you can make a killing with that.

You might be right. It basing it off your HQ and then taking your total balance because it was easier to calculate. Your balance is recorded in a log. It might be easier if I change the description as I might not be able to easily do it the way its describing.

Its really an anti spamn against free accounts. If you're paid account i can lift it by a lot. Ruler ship however, needs to get flagged a certain way so you can filter to them specifically if you want. Like if you only want to see what rulers have to say.

That sounds right. if your cargo is 5k and you stuck those two artifacts on it, it would become 35k, THEN the upgrades multiply that 35k.

I've been doing nothing but Music holoDiscs for weeks now =)

You spend your research points and you can make it pretty cheap. If you stick to just Fruits on earth, after a while you will be selling down all the demand but its easy enoughto switch productiona dn edit all your transports orders. Fields and pastures are easy that way

I assume you mean level AX artifacts because they were the one you could get 3 of. Anyway, I just popped a Mysterios AX and the description says I found 5 AX Geotechnicals but only received 3. Also, "artifact is misspelled in the stage 2 title. Here is the full text:

Still working on Orbital Megastructures

Its been a few weeks and while we are making a lot of progress, the orbitals aren't ready yet. Its taking a lot of changes to the system to handle them and any future MegaStructures such as Dyson Spheres and possibly city level structures. But there are certain things that are already in place on the development machine. The 4 orbital structures can all be created and deployed and they all have graphics. The Warp Gates are boosting your ships speed when used. The Starbase is a functioning Shipyard in space. The Spaceport is going to give a small boost to structures production for the whole planet.

I'm still toying with the exact effects of all the orbitals. I will probably get them into the game next week just for myself to try them out and then adjust them from there.

The Warp Gate is boosting sped when used. probably caost money to use that will go to the owner

The Orbital Guns are going to be a "defense" that shows up to any fight on the surface of the planet. Hit like big rail guns

The Spaceport is commerce based and will give a small boost to structure cost to everyone on the planet. The owner will make a small percentage of all sells on the entire planet.

The Starbase is a giant Shipyard in space that can build units 2x as fast to start and also might reduce the upkeep cost of anything stationed there. I'm exploring a blockade ability as suggested for starbases also

I've attached a picture of what they are looking like so far

20 meg on a guild icon is probably way to much. It should be like 100k or something =)

I'm not sure what the cap is but I know there is one and that looks way high. Try to bring it into some program like PAINT (If using windows it comes installed) and try to reduce the size of the image down close to100x100 pizels.

Also, not working if no image is sent? That's probably a bug

Setting a price gets complicated if you also want to users to have a way to see the price or not use the gate if it gets to high. I might be able to do a price change every so often like you mention and the price can only change like 10% so you can't price bomb Earth with a gate after everyone's using it..

I'm still toying with the price. Maybe we up the price to use it, perhaps we knock a zero off the upkeep . I'm not sure yet. I want to get them in place and see how practical the prices are. They also don't necessarily need to be "profitable". Its not much different than dropping heavenly bounties on Sol

Also... There are 750 freighters in Sol system and 520 of them are currently on Earth right now.
