In order to cause significant damage to a pirate base the ships required is difficult to travel intersystem and the bounty in other systems is not worth the time involved...
Just kind of want to know how often the events will occur to determine if I can increase military fleet size and use the bounty to offset the upkeep.
Hostile Pirates are just a random event like the Raiders. The More static ones that use the other two factions, Dark Star and Commonwealth will have big bases somewhere and won't "raid" so much as be involved in events where they might even attack corps for voting a certain way. They will probably attack en masse when they do. Their bases will probably be permanent or maybe last 2000 turns then relocate. I'm not sure if there is going to be as much a bounty if any in taking out there bases but there could be an event that will make all the corps "pick a side" in a war between them with the rewards going to a "victor" =) |

You mean like the "Galactus" of the entire sector? Whats the matter, ruler of an entire Star System not enough for your insatiable lust for POWER?! You have already gone corrupt! =)
I don't have anything planned past Star Lord, but remember, there is an election every week to maintain all your holdings. I wanted to come up with some sort of faction or reputation system which can be spent on voting and earned through certain events and/or just being a ruler. I also wanted t make events aimed at the rulers for a vote, like some sort of council vote on things that affect the entire system or planets. "Laws" that remain in effect until overturned. "No capital ships allowed on Mars" for example. Real political stuff like that. |

Additional buy option

Is it possible to add another buy option for transport units to buy max volume from the market instead of fixed numbers? For example now you constantly have to adjust the numbers to avoid your transport will wait another turn just to add another quantity of 1 on top of 929 because you have set the number to buy a total of 930 and the market volume has decreased since you have a loop order set to buy from that city.
So basically a third option beside 'Fill Cargo' and Fixed 'Quantity' , which is 'Max Volume' from one turn
How about a "Buy for X Turns" option. So it will buy as much as it can but not for more than 3 turns, or 1 turn (or whatever you choose) so you can guarantee a unit won't get stuck trying to buy for 12 turns at a low volume place AND/OR one that has 6 other people trying to buy or sell to it also. The volume is a limit on everyone there and there could be a traffic jam of ships trying to buy or sell
That would cause some problems when selling though. If you tried to sell for 3 round and only dumped half your product then go back around for a loop. I also have to say that if you are max dumping the volume every round for 100 round, you have dropped the demand by 100 in under a day.
Also, little known related nuance, Products sitting on a ship do NOT cost storage |

There's an idea for "Mega Structures" like corporation owned jump gates that anyone can use if they pay for it, links to another gate, that also charges for use. Mega Structure would be like a 2000 cargo ACP costing 500 million to produce hauled out (hopefully in a fleet) to a spot in the solar system and deployed in space, maybe it "builds" for a while out there.
Mega structures makes Titan Class ships or orbital defense platforms that can fire into any fight on the planet or within a certain range possible also =) It's on the wish list, kind of like a to do list but with unicorns on it. |

I want to bring in the suggestion for a downloadable application of BotG.
What I'm experiencing right now is getting somewhat tired of the waiting delay when going through information data on the map etc, like when you click on a city, than click demand tab for example, click back to overview map again, just already these few steps is trying to make me do it as less as possible since I just want to look at 1 product it's demands which feels like ages lol.
An application just showing all the information data you requested from a map area would be great already, that would instantly pop up the information I'm looking for because that small delay every click I make is killing me right not, but it could be me only. And maybe also reduces the load on servers since it doesn't have to send data more than one time with 1 turn, because now when clicking back to something it is always refreshing.
The UI Isn't optimized at all right now, it can definitely work better and we're going to address it towards the end. But we really want to make more reports for stuff like this so you don't have to navigate the screens which have a dozen different grids on them.
By the way do you know you can look at an entire planet or star system on the viewscreen and then hit "Show Data" on the right side of the screen and it will put it into a grid. Similar to when you're zoomed into a city. Also when you're looking a the demand grid, you can click on the top ten cities on the lower left and it should hold the demand grid in place. There is also one report on the report tab that allows you to look at all the demand for particular product or category going across a planet or system. Not sure what information you're trying to gather exactly. |

Yikes, that's an oversight on my part. Pirates, or anything where there is a "bounty" should be exempt from war reparations. Its really for corp vs corp fighting or perhaps attacking the Terran Federation.
Its also a good point on the abstaining. You can abstain and if no votes are cast then everyone is "innocent" but even if 1 vote goes in for anyone then they are "guilty" a vote for "no penalty" essentially should be added to the list so you with the most voting power, who took the most damage can declare that no one was at fault. |

Additional option when buying to prevent making big losses; an option to set the max %demand price to be allowed to buy, for example I want to prevent my transports or distribution center to buy a product from the market if the demand% has reached 200%. Than maybe something like transports will go back to a set location when they are no longer be allowed to buy, or just keep doing their route without buying anything.
Option to upload your own pictures for your buildings and vehicles, but only you can see the custom pictures, like someone attacks you with an infantry and you would see their picture, you would see the custom picture you have set for infantry, so this is all customizations which are all only for your personal view, although if this is good idea I don't know how it will work with copyrights, even if it's only for personal view...
Setting a max demand on a buy order is possible, The unit will just skip the buy order and move on. That might cause problems with your unit just doing circles. What about giving you the warning that your units are paying past the amount you set? Like somethin their unit logs. And then we make some easy way to view all the unit logs that are "warning level and above" something in the comms tab that displays all "warnings" from the unit logs so you can see important stuff like buying too high or units was damages or destroyed in an attack. Right now it doesn't track things like that very well.
Custom unit images that only you can see? Fascinating idea, I would have to look into that =) There was an idea of customizing the colors and trim of your units, so you can make all your cruisers be black with red highlights etc. everyone would see that. Might still be possible once all our images are in place. |

At the moment, there isn't anything special you can do while city leader outside getting the income, based on population. You are expected to be caretaker of the city , planet or system you govern because it is in your financial interest to do so. We're looking into having rulers have bigger weight when voting in event under their ruler ship too.
We do plan to make events with votes that only the rulers can vote in. Something akin to "Laws" that change how things operate in your city or planet which stick around until overturned. "No Capital Ships" or banning of certain goods or banning certain corps or guilds from trading there. There would also be things like voting for or against certain pirate factions which will make them help or harm your city and everyone operating in it. |

yes that's also very cool, and actually even better to have fixed themes for that indeed, altough it cost more effort for an art designer because it has to do the whole line for the collection.
The idea was to take the original pictures and break them up into 3 sections, the ship, the secondary colored part and the trim colored parts like the cockpit. Then just have the browser adjust the hue on the 3 sections to your liking, everyone would see that color combination. Each ship image is actually 3 layered on top of each other. It hasn't quite come out that way with the images though. They don't all have 3 distinct colors on them. Our Russian artist went off spec =) |

Kaiju Attack Event

We're testing a new Kaiju attack event this week as well as some other changes involving events.
The Kaiju attack is similar to a raider or pirate event except it spawns a "Super Unit" and it's not going to Raid your products, its just going to attack on a rampage towards a city. Also the Kaiju will have a weakness linked to a specific random resource product (Radioactive Metals, Rare Woods etc) which can be used to damage it without combat. You just have to dump that product on its location and it destroys the product and does damage equal to the quantity to the Kaiju next turn. All damage taken or done via product counts towards your bounty split if its destroyed.
Right now there is only one kind of Kaiju that is a super scaled up version of a tank unit, but we plan to make 3-4 different kinds that "Attack As" different kinds of units types so they require different kinds of units to combat it. Infantry, Battlesuit, Artillery and even Fighter or Bomber. The Kaijus have levels 1-10 like any other ground unit but they are usually starting at like 20 times the attack power and 50x the Hit points and bounty value of that unit type at level 1, then scale up in levels from there like any other ground unit. Level 10 Kaiju were breaking the database 32-bit integer limitations for some things =)
The event itself will have a link to track exactly where the unit is at the time and we also are working on making every event have its own Comms channel so everyone can scream for help in the appropriate place. The Random level of the Kaiju is capped to 1 level per 10mil population on the planet. A 100mil pop planet can spawn a level 10 Kaiju. A level 10 Kaiju of the one kind we have hits for like 2000x tanks and has 500k hit points. In testing, a single monolith lost a war with a level 7 Kaiju rampaging through terran fed defenses and it doesn't even hit capital ships for squat. Try Bombers =) edited by DrDread on 1/21/2017 |

well I don't like the idea that being an additional perk for paid accounts only imo, putting a pay wall to unlock game mechanics seems to be very thing what is wrong with games these days, but yo, that's my opinion :P
I wouldn't make a queue limit based on paid status, like Astro empries does. Paid status perks are going to be things like, push comms notifications to email, up loadable images and, for mostly practical reasons, being elected for government positions. I do want to add a SLIGHT advantage to logistics or corp Tech for paid accounts, something that amounts to less than 5% advantage just so you can say you get SOMETHING for paid account. Ilike the idea of upping your logistics caps slightly. Like +5 and +20 for structures and military, that really only becomes an advantage at max level anyway Founders are getting a slight advantage already to corpHQ bonus. |

Ok, I think I see where it happened but I'm not sure what triggered it. Its as though the database skipped over a line of code, literally, or we seriously fat fingered something yesterday (maybe it was the cat...).
It appears that anything you constructed in the last 1000 turns has gone in as a military unit again. The strange "(ACP) Structure" forts is coming from any (ACP) Items you built 1000 turns ago coming in as Military units. In the database the Item Type ID of that item is the same as the Military Type ID of a Fort.
I can't filter out the extra units and delete them (he ACP Structure forts I could), at least I haven't found a practical way to do it. They are almost identical copies of what your real units were down to "When they were built" They have the same name as when they were created but many people change names and/or have duplicate names on their units on purpose. I don't have anything reliable to filter by. Short of restoring the database from last night, something I do not want to do, everyone can keep the extra units or salvage them at their leisure. |

Ain't it an idea to have the game just everything same for everyone, but you make clear to the players that they are able to support the game to keep the game running and further develop, there is always the possibility to change it into paid perks because of lack of support (not because of greedy shareholders who got your company in a stranglehold LUL) I'm pretty sure there will be a lot of support from people for this concept, although I have no crystal ball, I can imagine people want to keep a game alive they have a lot of fun with that still demands nothing of them. But anyway, yea anything which is less being placed behind a paywall I can only support that
Ideally the only thing you would pay for are cosmetic vanity items. I don't have much opportunity for that in this game except for maybe different variations of ship images. But that's 25+ units.Elections on paid only is great but that doesn't apply to everyone. Not moving your Corp HQ out of Sol System might still be the important one, it depends on how it goes when Sol has less cities and resources than it does now. |

BaronOfThGalaxy wrote:
There is a lot of logistical management in this game, I have now come to a point that I can't handle the management of all my logistics without spending a lot and a lot of time configuration my assets stock in cities and transports.
For example last day the clothing industry collapsed, I have been buying lot's of clothing since than, I got several cities full stocks of clothing products, which is fine because I make a lot of profit of them, but transporting them out of the cities to the locations I want them to is an extremely exhausting job. Either way it would be fine if I was not paying storage cost, but since it did I have to get it out.
I have some suggestions for logistical management: 1.For on the logistical main page an order options, with next to units which can transport goods and products selection boxes, just like when you mass upgrade. Than you can issue orders like this; Select a transport unit to do the job (from main asset list) > select the city which all the goods as to be send to (from main asset list options) > select all the products (from main asset list) > choose between transport/sell products. Now the transport will automatically will create the orders to do the job for the selections you have made and starts transporting the goods to the place you have selected and starts selling it or dumping it inside
2.Disband unit group option, now you have to select them one by one to get the out of a group, or a selection box to select each unit you want to disband out of it.
3.Select all units from main asset list with check boxes to move to an location immediately/after empty cargo/after first reaching loop order, and it will cancel their current orders after that and move to the location, for maybe emergency or just logistical reasons.
4.Additional list of cities when you issue 'move to location' order, so you can see all cities names instead of scrolling down a whole list of code named places in between.
Tbh the logistical management is just to much for me now that I'm not doing it anymore, at least not for now.
Your'e working to hard take a break =)
The UI does need some more work/features to manage all the things you are talking about. The "make a transport order" is a popular one where you click on a unit and pass in a product and two locations and it does the orders automatically. Some people "Save" an order list and then Load it onto other units and modify the entries right now.
More selection boxes or "Mass X Units" options is definitely something well work on. The games not finished yet =) |
