Yes I talked to the guy who runs Imperium Nova. It inspired me to eventually do a dynasty system in this game. Its nice to know my efforts over there have yielded ONE interested person =)

You can go past your limit, It just penalizes the cost of production everywhere until the HQ upgrades. We got to have resistance from logistics at some point otherwise everyone becomes a torrential whirlwind of profit and expansion. Maybe we keep the logistics low but make the penalty be 1% for every level past the limit like military is. So the norm is to go past your limit some but how much is up to you Another tweak is to maybe make the CorpHQ upgrades, at least at lower level, cheaper or faster? But speeding up the game like this goes against the "play forever" style of game that it is =)

The real problem might be that structures upgrade to fast and aren't in the same time scale with the rest of the game

Making the system skip orders because the cargo is full might get messy (code wise). It might be easier to make a SINGLE ORDER that can pick up more than one thing but that is complicated also. 12 transports in the same place trying to pick up 5-6 different things at once while some already carrying cargo etc. is another set of complexity on an already tricky situation =)

On second thought maybe making the orders skip any "pick up" orders if its full and skip any "drop off" orders if its already empty might be easier to implement.

Another feature we should try to add is a pick up "anything" and a sell "anything you're carrying" option. Make the commands easier

I was able to, I mean people are doing it also. Are you using an image that's too large? Are you getting an error or is it just not doing anything after you hit "Upload"?

Are you using the browse button to select a file then hitting the upload button? The only other thing it might be is that the file itself is too large like in bytes but if the image is only 100 by 70 that's unlikely

That's normal it just isn't telling you that when you're in the middle of doing something when the turn ends its forces the page to reload. It's to prevent any :"confusion" in the code like editing orders for a unit that is now destroyed etc.

Their behavior is more randomized now. They don't respond immediately sometimes and they guard for random amounts of time. There's 5 ships per planet now. They eventually clear there orders and then wait to get called to a battle location again. Gotta keep you on your toes =) Eventually they will spawn large groups to attack players who attack other en masse in Sol or from another system even .

Allowing a lot of symbols in the text just opens up a lot of potential abuses not just hacking. You can start making ASCII art or flood ir with gibberish. The quick reply and comments are supposed to be simple and short it's not a forum. I can allow a few more common ones though

For a free to play browser game you can't expect too many bonuses for bringing in your friends who are, most likely, just another email version of you making 12 accounts in the game to gain an advantage =)

On the paid account side (full accounts are probably $5 a month) the problem of 12 clones of yourself still exist but if you want to make 12 paid accounts and call yourselves "friends" I'll be happy to take the money. In the end there is no reliable way of stopping players from making multiple accounts. There is no reliable way to tell if they are the same person and if we try then what happens is that only the serious hardcore players with multiple computers/devices will have multiple accounts and get away with it. Those people are usually the problem anyway.

The best way to deal with the multiple account problem is to design the game in a way that mitigates it. In this one the only real mitigation to someone making 100 accounts and trying to dominate a system is that you can easily "move" to another system if you're small and they can't easily follow or attack across a system.

...Back to the original question of referrals. I'm not planning any referral bonuses especially for free accounts but I would consider doing it for paid accounts. It wouldn't be an in game bonus but maybe more subscription time if you bringing people who mention you. We don't want any kind of "money to in game advantage" happening short of the accelerated start idea where you can pay a little more when you first start a paid account to start off with higher level Corp Level and/or money but there won't be a way to pay for in game advantage past that.

They will. The battle page needs to be worked on some and the messages do need to include a link. They also need to NOT give you another message for every fight in the same location.

Several changes were just pushed into the currently running Alpha Test:
  • The two simple random events that have been running, product price goes up and product price goes down, were expanded to the planetary and System wide levels. You should see a planet wide or system wide "Price goes up/down" event happen within a day or two. You can see all events under Corporate Tab > Events. If these test out ok then we will start making more event types.
  • The Viewscreen >> Overview tab has checkboxes to Display Events or battle icons on the map, the default is off and battles are not showing up on the system level at the moment.
  • The View screen has a new feature to help see what is going on the planetary and system levels. There is a new "Show Data" button toggle on the right side of the screen below the Zoom out. It allows you to see the same grids of information you see when zoomed into a city but on the planet or system level. The sub tabs (Over view, Demand, Industry etc.) work also. The grids that are generated can be quite large at the system level and we're looking for ways to reduce the size or re-arrange the pages in the future.
  • Logistics for structures have been lowered from 5% to only be a 1% penalty per "point" over your current maximum, just like Military is. Don't be afraid to go a little bit past your maximum.
  • The Cost per Turn of the military units has been overhauled. Generally speaking you pay the entire cost of the unit again about every week (about 1000 turns) in upkeep. Lower tech units (infantry) cost less to upkeep and higher tech units (Fighters) cost more between 1200-800 turns. Defenses take about two weeks (2000 turns) before you've paid the cost of the unit again in upkeep again. The grid on the website Guide >> Combat page shows a cost per turn for every unit.

I think I need to try to make a warning icon near the turn number that displays when there is an error log entry for the last turn. It's not easily apparent, even for me, when the turns are erroring out. If there is an error the turn unwinds in the database like nothing happened but there is a log of what and where the error was and on what turn.

The ability to drop defenses was removed a while ago. We don't like the idea of having a freighter show up and drop 20 defenses at once
